Heartwood Haven
We’re winding down March with a story of empowerment. I’d like to tell you about Heartwood Haven, a unique animal sanctuary in Roy, Washington. It has a noble mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a safe haven for animals that have been subjected to cruelty, abuse, and neglect. The sanctuary stands out for its compassionate animal welfare approach and commitment to creating a better world for all living beings. Some animals live in residence at the sanctuary, and others are adopted out to new, loving, nurturing homes.
The organization collaborates with an adversary board and area veterinarians to provide necessary medical care to rescue animals, including spay/neuter surgeries. It also collaborates with sheriff’s offices to perform emergency rescue operations within and outside of Washington.
Heartwood Haven focuses on farm animals and aims to educate the public about their plight. The animals it rescues may come from neglectful or cruel environments on bankrupt farms or backyard breeders. Heartwood Haven rehabilitates animals that can be placed in forever homes, while animals that are not adoptable receive long-term care at the sanctuary.
The Hearts of Hooves
For the past three years, Heartwood Haven has been transforming lives through its online fundraising auction, “The Hearts of Hooves.” This crucial event, which has been a lifeline for the animals under their care, will be held again on June 2, 2024 at 6 a.m. through June 9, 2024 at 9 p.m. PDT. We invite you to be a part of this life-changing event.
